Terry Pratchett – Living With Alzheimers

This is just an interesting image i found of Terry Pratchett, which is a till from the T.V programme he did talking about his Alzheimers. I like the way that the brain has been shown, and this was something i was hoping to use in my own work on Alzheimers.

John Stanley’s Granpa Feebes.

This is a strip from a comic book called Tubby and His Club House Friends by John Stanley. In this comic he introduced Iggy’s grandfather, Grandpa Feebes. In this particular strip, Grandpa Feebes is having trouble remembering his wn grandson, something that i can relate to. I like how he has tried to keep it humerous and light, kind of the opposite of the style I am working on. Apaarently Granpa Feebes memory loss is due to Alzheimers.

Fading

This is an image that i found on an Alzheimers Society website. It was drawn by an 11 year old child and was part of a project asking children to illustrate what they know about Alzheimers, or any personal experience they have had with it. I like the image because it shows the effect that Alzheimers can have on young people and family members of the people who have it.

The Deadbeats

Here are several designs for The Deadbeats album, Backdoor Honey. The first images are sleeves for the 7” vinyl for the single, with the first image being the front, and the second image is the back. The Artwork and sleeve design is by Sy Evans. The vinyls themselves also have artwork on. The bottom two images are of a flier and a poster, both promoting the bands album. The reason i chose to include this is because it has a little bit of everything that is in the assessment requirements, and plus it shows how the artwork can be very similar on eahc part, but be slightly altered for different purposes.

The Hitchcock Rules

This is the sleeve for the Vinyl of The Hitchcock Rules – For My Montser album. The sleeve looks like a simple piece of brown paper, tied up with a rough piece of string. It is a really simple idea, but also very effective.

Jazzanova

These record covers were made by Berlin based design studio Hort. They were created for Jazzanova’s album Of All The Things. The images also show an album poster, along with the artbook for the album. I think the thing that attracts me to these covers is that they seem to have a tactile quality not really found in a plastic CD case. The artbook really shows this, with its beutifully embossed cover. I think it is fantastic.

The Prodigy

This is The Prodigy’s new album, Invaders Must Die. The album is availiable on CD, but this image shows the limited edition vinyl version. In this version, the album comes as 5, 7” vinyls. Whe the sleeves are laid out they line up to create one whole image. Although the images do not particulalry grasp me, the idea of a box set like this i think is interesting.
